Muhammad Owais Tahir completed his Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China with focus on mapping and navigation for robots. He worked as Research Associate and Team Lead at National Agricultural Robotics Laboratory, LUMS, Pakistan. His areas of research are focused on Lidar based mapping systems, SLAM and ROS. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in research project on the automation of construction site progress monitoring using autonomous rovers, LiDAR and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
