Ivanka Iordanova studied architecture at UASEG, Sofia, Bulgaria. She has a master’s degree (in Computer-Aided Design, Modeling and Manufacturing) from the School of Architecture at the University of Montreal, where she also obtained her PhD in digital architecture and its teaching. After a post-doc at the ETS (GRIDD research group), she joined the construction company Pomerleau, where she created and led the Innovation team for 7 years. In 2019, she became a professor in the Construction Engineering Department at ETS. Her research focuses at digital innovation in construction through BIM, automation of certain processes, digital manufacturing, etc., while using Lean Construction strategies.
