Hélène Duval (Ph.D. in education sciences, MA dance) is an adjunct professor in the Department of Dance at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) and a researcher at CRIFPE. Her research focuses on pedagogical practices in dance, on the arts as a means of academic and social inclusion, and on choreographic creation in plural contexts in several projects funded by the FRQ and the SSHRC. Among others, she collaborates with David St-Onge, [Hexagram co-researcher member, ÉTS], with artists of puppetry, dance movement, sound and a movement analyst, on a research and creation project (Prisme-art du FRQ) on humans and robots in interaction, by crossing the notions of choreographic writing, intelligence of robotic swarms, expressiveness and recovered materials.
